Unboxing: Librum Box, May/June 2016
I was extremely pleased with my first experience with Librum Box, which was the March/April box, as I was highly motivated to purchase it due to one of my favourite makers (Baisimu) being involved in that particular box. When the current theme for May/June was announced, I signed up immediately because I love tea. I mean, hey, who doesn't love tea? ;)
Disclosure: This post is not sponsored by any of the artists/makers involved or CLSG.
What I appreciate most about Carpe Librum is that the box is delivered personally by the team. It's probably tough for them, especially since it was raining the day they delivered mine, but no start-ups are easygoing from the beginning. Kudos to that!
So what is in this couple of months' Librum Box? :D
I left the box overnight before I opened it and I was SO GLAD that the ants did not invade the cookies, because I would have been so sad. (Due to the weather, insects are emerging EVERYWHERE. Argh.)
1. CHOCOLATE CHIPS COOKIES BY DE'COOKIES LAB
I devoured the bag within an hour of opening them. I think that speaks a lot for the level of Yum it has, eh? Honestly, I do not fancy cookies that are overly buttery or oily, but these are just perfect. Perfetto!
2. RAINBOW SOCKS FROM THE SOCK AVENUE
I was pretty surprised by this choice of merchandise in this box. I'm thinking it's probably inspired by Socks Sunday on Instagram (which is a tag I don't particularly enjoy looking through). However, my socks collection has been dwindling in colours lately because I just cleared up my wardrobe so they are mostly black or white (my life is monochromatic, shut up). I appreciate the new burst of colours among them, so thanks TSA!
3. DRINK GOOD TEA, READ GOOD BOOKS MUG
CLSG includes one or two items by them each time and I quite like the mug. (Except, I have... too many drinking tools already.) I reckon I will be using this for keeping my bookmarks since I have been intending to use one of my existing (brand new) mugs to do that, and this bookish themed mug is again, perfetto!
4. TEA BACK & RELAX MIX BY LITERARY TEA CO.
This is my favourite item out of everything in this Librum Box. I mean, it's tea and while I am just an amateur tea drinker, I do love trying all kinds of tea. This mix is made exclusively for Carpe Librum Singapore and it is a mix containing organic black tea, strawberries, orange peel, and vanilla bean. I haven't tried it yet but I'm looking forward to it! :D
5. KEEP ME POSTED, by LISA BEAZLEY
It is always a pleasant surprise to receive a signed copy of any book. It also warms my heart if it is personalised. Lisa actually signed the books at CLSG personally! I am super thankful even though it's a contemporary book that I probably will read a long time later (because this girl just rarely reads contemporary, if at all). But regardless, it still seems like a good read because social media and traditional mail are two things I indulge in, so the context does appeal to me. :)
Overall, consider me a satisfied customer! Looking forward to the next box's theme! I do enjoy supporting local artists and this box helps me to know more makers. :)
